A groin guard is mandatory protection for every male practitioner from the first sparring session. A low blow without protection can end a session — and cause lasting injury. The RDX range covers all profiles: from the compact gel cup to the CE-certified abdo guard for official MMA competition. Swiss shipping via DPD, delivery in 2 to 3 working days.
RDXSports.ch is the official RDX Sports store for Switzerland. Authentic models, Swiss warranty, support in EN/FR/DE.

Protection types: what do they actually cover?
Gel cup / shell only
Protects the groin area only. Most compact format, fits in the inner short pocket. Ideal for bag and pad work where low blow risk is limited.
Groin guard with waistband
Shell + integrated elastic band. More stable than a loose shell during movement, worn over or under compression depending on the model. For light to moderate sparring.
Full abdo guard
Covers groin + lower abdomen + lower flanks. Standard for heavy sparring, competition and MMA. T15 Noir, APEX and Mark Pro CE fall in this category.
CE certified
European standard mandatory in official MMA competition (IMMAF, regulated promotions). APEX and Mark Pro CE only. For training, certification is not required.

Yes, for all male fighters in all federations (Swiss Boxing, WAKO, IMMAF). In official MMA, a CE-certified model is generally required. Check the organiser's rules before purchasing.
How do you make sure the groin guard stays in place during the fight?
Wear it under compression shorts or over them depending on the model. Models with integrated elastic waistband (H1, Aura Plus T-17) stay in place better than loose shells during intense MMA movement and throws.
Do women need a groin guard?
Not for groin protection. Some female MMA practitioners use a specific pelvic guard. For boxing and kickboxing, the chest/body protector is the main recommended body protection.
Difference between APEX and Mark Pro CE?
Both are CE certified for MMA competition. The Mark Pro is genuine leather, more durable and more comfortable for intensive daily use. The APEX is premium synthetic finish, slightly more accessible. First competition purchase: APEX. Regular professional use: Mark Pro.
How do you choose the right size?
Models with waistband (H1, Aura Plus, F6 KARA) adjust via velcro or elastic — one size in most cases. For abdo guards (T15 Noir, APEX, Mark Pro), check the size guide on the product page: waist circumference is the main criterion. When in doubt, go larger — an abdo guard that is too tight restricts breathing.
What is the most common buying mistake?
Choosing a loose shell (no waistband) for MMA sparring and losing it inside your shorts on the first clinch or takedown. For any sparring with ground work or clinch, a model with integrated waistband or abdo guard is strongly recommended. Tip: if you are unsure between a gel cup and a groin guard, go with the groin guard — the volume difference is negligible and the stability is significantly better.
