Introducing a child to boxing means giving them coordination, self-confidence and a healthy way to burn off energy – without turning them into a fighter. RDX kids' punch bags are sized and built to withstand the strength of a 5- to 12-year-old: neither too heavy nor too light. The sets with gloves included let you get started the same day, without buying anything else. Shipped across Switzerland with DPD, delivered in 2 to 3 working days.
RDXSports.ch is the official RDX Sports store for Switzerland. Genuine products, Swiss warranty, support in FR/DE/EN.
The two models available
- Classic / junior club → F6 KARA Kids 2ft + 6oz gloves – 2ft (60 cm) bag in synthetic Maya Hide, complete set with 6oz gloves. The benchmark for 6- to 12-year-olds who want to learn the basics of punching.
- Fun & motivating / robot design → RDX 4W Robo Kids 2ft + gloves – same 2ft format with a colourful robot design that makes kids want to hit it. Ideal for 5- to 10-year-olds who need an appealing bag to get interested.
Why a dedicated kids' punch bag?
- The right dimensions
- A 4ft or 5ft adult bag is too heavy and too tall for a 6-year-old. The 2ft (60 cm) format hangs at the right height for the child and withstands their strength without being as rigid as an adult bag.
- Child-size gloves included
- The 6oz gloves supplied in the sets are cut for small hands. Adult gloves (10–16 oz) are too heavy and too big – the child punches badly and loses interest.
- Safe punching
- A bag that is too hard or too heavy can injure a child's wrists and knuckles. RDX Kids models have calibrated resistance: they absorb the impact without being excessively hard.
How to hang a kids' punch bag
- Hanging height – the bottom of the bag should be at the child's waist height, no higher. For an 8-year-old (~1.30 m), allow for a fixing point at around 1.30–1.50 m from the floor.
- Beam or wall hook – same principle as for an adult, but the load is much lower. A standard hook in a wooden beam is enough.
- Space – 1 m of clearance all round is enough for a child. Make the area safe (no furniture nearby).
From what age can children start?
From 5–6 years old for play and discovery (a few minutes, supervision required). From 8–9 years old, the child can start properly learning the basic punches (jab, cross, hook) under the guidance of an adult or a coach. Most junior clubs accept children from age 8.

Frequently asked questions
- F6 KARA Kids or Robo: which one to choose?
- The F6 KARA Kids is the classic choice, understated and effective, suited to children who take boxing seriously from age 6–7. The Robo is designed to make punching fun and appealing – ideal for the youngest (5–8 years) or less motivated children who need a visual stimulus to get interested.
- Can the bag stay hanging permanently?
- Yes. The fixing is permanent. Some families hang the bag in the child's bedroom or in the hallway. Just make sure the hook is in a solid beam and that the space around it is clear.
- Does a child need hand wraps under the gloves?
- For short sessions (5–15 min) with the gloves supplied, wraps are not essential. As soon as the child punches regularly (3 times a week), the 2.5 m Kids wraps are recommended to protect small wrists.
