Partner work is where boxing really starts to make sense. Focus pads allow the coach or training partner to dictate the pace, combinations and distance — something no fixed bag can do. They are the fundamental tool for two-person work in boxing, kickboxing and MMA. Shipped across Switzerland via DPD, delivery in 2 to 3 working days.
RDXSports.ch is the official RDX Sports store for Switzerland. Genuine products, Swiss warranty, support in EN/FR/DE.
Which focus pads for which use?
First purchase / amateur club → F6 KARA Focus Pads — Maya Hide Leather, dense padding, the solid entry-level reference.
Women coaches / dedicated design → FL3 Floral Focus Pads — specific cut and design, ideal for female coaches and practitioners.
Curved work / hooks & uppercuts → T1 Curved Boxing Pads — curved shape that facilitates hook and uppercut work, natural angle for the holder’s wrist.
Intensive use / daily sessions → T15 Noir Focus Pads — premium matte black finish, multi-layer padding to absorb heavy shots.
Intermediate-advanced level → Focus Pad Aura Plus T-17 — T-17 padding technology, optimal damping for the holder, clean strike feedback for the puncher.
Experienced coach / top of the range → L1 Mark Pro Boxing Training Pads — genuine leather, professional build, the choice for coaches holding for hours every day.
How to choose the right pads?
Flat shape
Ideal for jab and straight work. The flat surface gives clean strike feedback — perfect for calibrating precision.
Curved shape
Facilitates hooks and uppercuts: the hollow of the pad guides the fist at the natural punch angle. Better wrist protection for the holder.
Padding weight and thickness
The harder the puncher, the thicker the padding needed. For beginners, 4-5 cm is enough. For heavy hitters or coaches holding 3h+/day, multi-layer models (T15, Mark Pro) are recommended.
Closure / hold
All RDX pads have velcro retention straps. Check the strap adjusts to your hand if you have an unusual size.
Focus pads vs punch bag: when to use which?
Focus pads (this page) — guided work, distance and timing set by the holder, essential for combinations and combat realism.
Punch bag — solo work, power and endurance, combination repetition without human feedback.
Flat to start: the flat surface trains jab and straight precision. Curved pads come in the second phase for more realistic hook work. If you’re only buying one pair, get the F6 KARA flat.
Should I wear wraps under the pads?
Strongly recommended. The holder absorbs dozens of strikes per session — impact transfers to the wrist. Without wraps, after a few intense sessions the coach’s wrist fatigues and can get injured. At least wear inner gloves or short wraps.
How long do RDX focus pads last?
In a professional club (3-5 sessions/week): 2-4 years for mid-range models, 4-8 years for the Mark Pro leather. For amateur use (1-2x/week): 5-10 years.
Can focus pads be used for kickboxing and Muay Thai?
Yes for punches. For kicks, you need thai pads (kick shields) — larger, better padded. Focus pads are not designed to absorb kicks.
Difference between focus pads and a kick shield?
Focus pads are held in the hand for precise punch work. A kick shield (thai pad) is larger, held against the body, designed to absorb kicks and knee strikes. Two distinct tools — a complete coach has both.
The duo that drives real progress. 6 models below — from the entry-level F6 KARA to the premium Mark Pro. Choose according to your use and your athlete’s punch power.
