Filling
Water (fast, light when empty) or sand (denser, more stable, permanent). 80 to 150 kg when full depending on model.
Surface
Hard floor (concrete, tiles, laminate). Avoid thick carpet.
Space required
At least 1.5m clearance around the bag. Minimum ceiling height 2.3m.
Maintenance
Wipe the leather/vinyl after each sweaty session. Inspect the base every 6 months.
Moving
Empty the base, disassemble into 2 pieces. 20–30 minutes.

Does a freestanding bag move when you hit hard?
A properly filled base (80+ kg) stays very stable. The bag swings slightly at the top (normal). Heavy puncher (>95 kg): F9 with reinforced XL base.
Water or sand to fill the base?
Water: quick to fill and drain, ideal for renters. Sand: denser and more stable, ideal for permanent home gyms.
Noise for neighbours?
Less transmitted noise than a hanging bag. Place a thick mat under the base. Avoid sessions after 9pm in apartment buildings.
Can you do kicks on it?
Yes. The tall vertical shape allows kickboxing/MMA with low-kicks and middle-kicks. For high-kicks: 6ft (183 cm) is well suited.
How long does a freestanding RDX bag last?
