The skipping rope is every boxer's warm-up — and one of the best cardio tools there is. Five minutes of skipping raises your heart rate, activates hand-foot coordination and prepares your shoulders for striking work. The RDX range covers every profile: from the colourful kids' rope to the connected digital model with counter and app. Shipped across Switzerland via DPD, delivered in 2 to 3 working days.
RDXSports.ch is the official RDX Sports store for Switzerland. Genuine models, Swiss warranty, support in FR/DE/EN.
Classic, ball-bearing or digital rope: which to choose?
Classic braided nylon rope
Simple, light, tangle-free. For learning rhythm, daily warm-ups, children. Excellent lifespan, zero maintenance.
Rope with aluminium or wooden handles
Better rotation feel, better weight distribution. For regular athletes who want to increase speed or intensity.
Digital / connected rope
Built-in counter, calories, app. To track progress, set goals and make training more engaging. Recommended if you use the rope as your main conditioning tool.
How do you adjust your rope to the right length?
Stand on the middle of the rope: the handles should reach armpit height. Too long = slow rhythm and the rope hitting your feet. Too short = forced rotation and poor posture. All RDX adult models are adjustable. The kids' models are 10ft (3 m) — suited to 5-12 year olds.

How many minutes of skipping for an effective warm-up?
5 to 10 minutes is enough for a warm-up before bag work or sparring. For pure cardio, 3 rounds of 3 minutes with 1 minute of rest between each is an effective standard.
Can skipping replace running?
For boxing conditioning, the rope is often preferred: it develops coordination, rhythm and wrist flexibility as well as cardio. It is also gentler on the knees than running on tarmac.
Which rope specifically for boxing?
Experienced boxers prefer light, fast-rotating ropes (aluminium, ball bearings). For beginners, braided nylon or memory foam models are more comfortable to learn with.
Can it be used on any surface?
Choose a soft surface (wooden floor, tatami, grass) to protect the rope and your joints. Avoid bare concrete, which wears the cable quickly. Indoors, a protective gym mat is ideal.
